Barret Traditional Middle School • Boiler & Chiller Replacement

One of Louisville’s oldest schools needed its heart replaced — and on this one, Best Mechanical is running the whole project as general contractor.

Scope: Full boiler and chiller replacement; complete mechanical room rework; concrete pad expansion. Best Mechanical serving as GC.

The Challenge: A significantly larger chiller into an old building meant reworking the entire mechanical room, navigating complicated existing piping, and fitting everything into a tight window built around school closures.

The Solution: Scanning and detailed layout before mobilizing, and piping fabricated off-site in our shop — de-risking the site and compressing installation. Currently tracking far ahead of schedule.
