Louisville LDS Temple • HVAC Replacement/Plumbing Retrofit

This is a sacred building to the community it serves — and while it was offline, members drove to Indianapolis or Nashville to worship. We treated the work with the respect the building demands: a fixed window, absolute standards, and systems buried in some of the tightest attic spaces we've ever worked.

Scope: Full HVAC replacement; ~80% plumbing retrofit including two new restrooms and locker room systems; complex rigging; temporary systems; testing & balancing.

The Challenge: Air handlers behind finished surfaces with limited access, long refrigerant runs across multiple elevations, a plumbing design that didn’t meet Kentucky code, and strict standards for noise, airflow, and equipment visibility.

The Solution: Real-time field engineering by our master plumber brought the design into code compliance without losing schedule. We re-engineered refrigerant routing with the factory and engineers, protected the building with our own temporary heating and cooling, and balanced beyond standard requirements. Returned to the community on schedule, with the original design’s humidity issues resolved.
